Savvy Ladies Volunteers
Amanda Plakosh
Volunteer's Bio
Amanda Plakosh spent years building a career across corporate America, including roles in Research & Development, Environmental Health & Safety, Marketing, Human Resources, and Corporate Social Responsibility at Fortune 1000 companies, before making a deliberate pivot into personal finance. She holds a BS in Chemical Engineering, a degree that taught her how to solve problems and address root causes rather than settle for surface fixes. When she turned that same approach toward money, she realized the root cause was rarely a lack of know-how. More often, it was the behaviors, values, and relationships that shape the choices people make around money without them even realizing it.
That realization is what led her to personal finance, and to an understanding she hopes to share with others: making good choices with money doesn't just result in security, it results in freedom. Freedom to choose the career you actually want. Freedom to leave the one that doesn't fit anymore. Freedom to build a life on your own terms. Having grown up in a working class household, Amanda knows firsthand what that freedom is worth, and that it's built through habits and knowledge, not a bigger paycheck. That's what drives her mission to help working people become "401(k) millionaires" through strategic budgeting, steady saving, and working towards financial goals as a team. Amanda passed the CFP® Certification Exam in March 2026 and is currently a Candidate for CFP® certification, completing the experience hours required for full certification.
