Increasing financial literacy empowers women.
Savvy Ladies is a NYC-based nonprofit that addresses women’s financial instability by providing free financial education and support services.
Women from all backgrounds face daunting challenges to their financial well-being, including income inequality, divorce, inadequate retirement savings, and the impact of care-giving on lifetime income and spending. But women of all socio-economic levels are far more likely than men to lack the knowledge and confidence to make informed, proactive decisions that best secure their financial security.
Savvy Ladies was created in 2003 by Stacy Francis, a finance industry professional who experienced how financial education could have transformed the life of a close family member. Savvy Ladies has helped over 15,000 women in the New York area and nationwide through virtual and in-person programs, including a Helpline staffed by a volunteer CFP® offering free, personalized financial coaching; an active program of webinars, seminars, and workshops reaching 5,000 women annually; and e-newsletters to an active mailing list of 10,000 individuals.
The organization’s programs have grown dramatically in response to demand and continued need, and by leveraging the effort and expertise of highly qualified pro bono volunteers. Savvy Ladies Corporate Partnerships provide volunteer opportunities that leverage the skills and knowledge of a company’s employees in visible roles such as webinar and seminar presenters.
