James Mayo, CFA

James holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is the principal of IronFjord Wealth Management, an independent, fiduciary firm based in Colorado. With over a decade of experience in finance, he provides thoughtful, tax-aware investment advice and financial planning to individuals and families. His firm’s philosophy is rooted in the belief that sound financial management starts with a comprehensive, well-structured plan.
Originally from Australia, James now resides in Colorado—by way of New York City, where he and his wife lived for several years and welcomed their first child. James recently spent a year living on the road full-time with his wife and their two young kids, ages three and five at the time, exploring the U.S. and eastern Canada in a self-built campervan. That journey reinforced his belief that financial planning isn’t just about money—it’s about building a life that reflects your values and goals.
